The Fireboy and Watergirl series is a series of action-adventure platform games for the Nintendo DS. The first game was released in North America in 2008, and the second game in 2009. The third game was released in 2011 in North America. The fourth game was announced in 2016 for a TBA 2017 release date. The fifth and final game, "Fireboy and Watergirl: The Runaway Hound", was released in Japan on March 25, is a list of the main games, as well as spin-offs and sequels.

The game features an overworld map where you can access any location from anywhere in the game, a crafting system, an upgrade system, and more than 30 quests to explore and complete.
